The Seven Essential Behaviors for successful execution

Back on days before 2008, what differentiated companies that succeeded from those that fall flat or failed to succeed was Execution, the discipline of getting things done. Now we know that our world can change faster than ever. Moreover, we can surely see Red Queen Hypothesis in the business world. We now live in a world in which radical chance can happen overnight. This reality makes Execution harder. Execution is not just about the efficient use of resources but also to provide the feedback loop needed for the business to adjust to change.

There are three core building blocks of execution.

  1. Strategy
  2. People
  3. Operations

Similar to the three core building blocks for execution being essential to getting things done with some modification to accommodate the global or environment change, there are Seven essential behaviors also, which remains essentials for execution. These are fundamental things which one can do to execute well with the context of times. The three core building blocks and also the seven behaviors are linked with one another.

  3. Identify clear goal and priorities
  4. Follow-Through
  5. Reward the Doers
  6. Expand peoples’ capabilities
  7. Know Yourself
